AC Delco A1236C Air filter
The A1236C is the factory
installed filter. It was originally
used by GM beginning in 1992.
Most all GM heavy duty trucks
with the 6.5L Diesel from 1992
to 2000 use the A1236C.
All Workhorse 8.1L equipped
chassis use this filter. It is a
HIGH FILTRATION filter, with
VERY LOW AIR FLOW
RESTRICTION. It is ideal for
both normal and severe service
applications.
Fits all Workhorse Gasoline 8.1
Liter chassis - 2000 thru 2010

AC Delco A917C Air Filter
The A917C and A1236C are
the same size filters, and are
interchangeable. The addition
of the sponge filter attached
over paper pleats gives the
A1236C higher dirt, dust, and
sand filtration which prevents
cylinder wall scoring leading to
excessive oil consumption
over the A917C. The A917C is
not recommended. If you are in
desert or high dust conditions use
the factory installed A1236C filter.
The A917C is used in Corvettes,
Cameros , and Pontiac Firebirds
up to 2004.
